On another note, I had my 3rd post-cancer haircut today. :) I'm digging the short hair thing. So much easier to maintain, and it never gets tangled. I stopped in to see the nurses in the oncology department (I was at the hospital for something else), and they all liked my hair. :)

Still waiting to hear from the genetic analyzing folks - who are waiting to hear from our insurance company. I have my followup oncology bloodwork in August, and a followup colonoscopy in the fall. I wonder if I get a discount, since I have so much less colon for them to check out? Half price for half a colon? I'll have to ask.

In the news: my sister found her wedding dress. I visited Toronto over the July long weekend (known by various names) to help with the search. We were unable to find anyone to kittysit Penny (all of our friends have lives, who knew?), so we brought her with us. They let cats and small dogs fly as carry on baggage for a small fee. She wasn't too miserable (but didn't like having her ears pop, or when I accidentally swung the bag). She fell asleep during the descent back to Boston, so she can't have been all that traumatized. The literature recommends not tranquilizing them, because it can make it harder for them to adjust to the altitude.

For anyone else planning to vacation with their pet: make sure they don't assign you the emergency exit seats. The flight attendant was very annoyed to discover that we had been put there in error (and it was too late to move us).

We're going to Vegas at the end of the month. Jason is speaking at DefCon again. My friend Shelley is joining us there, and she and I will tear up the strip while Jason plays with his little hacker friends. ;)
